Mr. Willy (AKA W5PFT)

For years Mr. Willy (AKA W5PFT) has been telling us that he worked for Mc Donald-Douglas and Boeing. I decided to check with an acquaintence who is an accomplished computer hacker and see if he could get into the Boeing personnel records to comfirm Willy's employment there. This is a good place to say that I never questioned Willy's truthfulness in this matter. Willy lies a lot about his girlfriends and that damn Wonder Dog but I never thought he would tell us a big one about his work record. After all, he distinguished himself as a military high speed code operator during the Korean War. We found Boeing's file on Willy impossible to hack because it wasn't in the computer. We had to bribe one of the secretaries to get her to go into the basement and dig Willy's file out of a dusty cardboard box. Here's what we found: 1. Willy was on board at Boeing in the B-52 department and later in the Saturn Rocket Division. That part of his story seems to be true. 2. Willy was not listed as an employee. William H. LaCost was a CONSULTANT. So we've caught him in a little windy about his past. 3. We dug deeper and found that Willy actually functioned as a TEST PILOT. Can you imagine Willy flying a B-52? or jump starting a Saturn rocket? 4. In Willy's file we found old news clippings and pictures that seem to lend credibility to the TEST PILOT scenario. The first picture purports to be of Willy after the maiden flight of the very first B-52. The next picture is of the town in Kansas that was destroyed when Willy mistook the lever that lowers the Landing Gear with the lever that drops the bombs. According to Willy's personnel file he was immediately promoted and shipped to New Orleans to test fly the Man-to-the-Moon rocket. 5. Our conclusion is: Willy lies a lot; but he's definitely one of our country's greatest resouces. 6.
